People. Planet. Production.

West Pine is a new breed of agribusiness focused on high-efficiency, low-impact food and energy production.

At West Pine we’re acutely aware of the tension between producing enough healthy food for a growing population and production methods that unsustainably consume natural resources.

Globally, agriculture contributes approximately one-third of all human-made greenhouse gases; uses 80 percent of the world’s fresh water; and causes significant biodiversity loss, soil degradation and pollution. Agriculture however, is also the source of all food, as well as fibre and energy, that our very existence relies on.

At West Pine, we believe food, fibre and energy can be produced better, with no net impact on the environment, meaning healthier people and planet.

What we do.

Farming.

We’re currently managing 250 ha of prime agricultural land and 450 ML of water across seven properties located in high-rainfall areas of Tasmania and Victoria. We produce a variety of irrigated vegetable crops, oilseeds, cereals, fodder, beef and lamb. We’re adopting best practice land and water management methods and are sustainably transitioning to a high-efficiency, low-impact way of farming.

Consulting.

Our team boast a diverse skill-set and wealth of experience in farm business operations and agri-food project management. We’ve delivered exceptional outcomes for various agri-food clients on environmental, transactional, production and business support projects. With profound insight into sustainable, low-impact agricultural production, we bring this lens to every engagement.

Projects.

Innovation and collaboration are at our core. We take this ethos and apply it to our farming and consulting ventures. Our appetite to grow and share knowledge of sustainable food production has led us to exciting crop, production and energy projects. We’re always looking for the opportunity to forge partnerships that will champion responsible production and consumption across industry.
